Beau is a busker I met in West end. After a few consultations we decided to record "Please Stop Praying " at my studio in 2014.

The acoustic is an electric Dobro style and we ran it through a tube pre amp and POD effects unit to give it some gain.

Beau really enjoyed the opportunity to multi track his song and took advantage of the instruments I had available to him.
We worked together to build the arrangement he had in mind.
We went on an adventure to the Currumbin Rock pools to experiment with 5.1 recording techniques. While I was recording the creek I also sampled a lot of other elements and later edited them in the studio.
I've layered the organic sounds and created Custom Instruments using the Logic pro X ESX24 sampler.

I then composed "Evil Evil Evil' using these unique new instruments.
For example the Kick Drum is based on a car boot slamming and the snare drum contains a breaking tree branch.

Peter Riley is an extremely talented musician from Dubbo, NSW.

I was amazed by his playing when I watched him perform a covers show at a local venue.

I wanted to capture live doing exactly what he does best in a great room.

After searching for the right venue to record I set up in an old church and invited Peter to perform. We recorded 15 songs in total and the session was extremely inspiring.
Earthworker was a band I played guitar for and toured the east coast with in 2011.

I helped record in the album in Sydney with producer Stevie Knight at Electric Sun records.

We then shot this film clip in Newcastle and outer western Sydney.
It was my introduction to long distance professional musicianship.
The Singer was based in Darwin, Drummer and Bass player in Sydney and I was living on the Gold coast.
We arrived for the tours a couple of days early and booked rehearsal rooms.

Designed for Affluenza is an unusual social studies commentary I created.

The main focus was to teach myself to edit video using Adobe Premier pro software. I had minimal editing knowledge previously and created the video mashup from youtube videos that I collected into a library. I then composed this as a poke at some society tendencies.

I didn't fuss too much with Eq matching the clips. It was more about the creative process.

The audio is unique though, a lot of the audio is not the same as the original video clip contained. For example the lady with the diamond rings voice is actually an exited man unboxing his new laptop computer.

" Into The Night " is a short film created by SAE students.

Although not high quality, it gave me a great understanding of how a professional movie set operates and through me in the deep end of sound design, field recording ,Boom operation, Dialogue recording and score composition.

I worked with fellow engineer Thalia Colettis to record and create almost every piece of audio from scratch in a very short time frame.
